(Journal Online) A rapidly improving Glenbrook South girls cheerleading squad achieved its best finish in the Central Suburban League competition in its brief (four-year) history on Jan. 11.
The Titan squad scored 76 points and placed 4th out of eight teams at the CSL finals at Glenbrook North. The Titans placed last in the competition in 2009, second to last in 2010, and fifth last year.
Maine South won this year for the fourth straight time with a score of 89.6. Niles North was 2nd, and host Glenbrook North 3rd.
The Titan squad now will turn its attention to the IHSA sectionals this weekend, Jan. 28, at Rolling Meadows High School. The state finals are Feb. 3-4 in downstate Bloomington.
Members of the Titan squad are seniors Jordan Synnestvedt, Dorothy Grabowski, and Ale Garcia; juniors Molly Cunningham, Rosie Nash, Rosie Lord, Min Yang, Lauren Clare, Kaylee Sherman, Jordyn Altit, Han-nah Gruenberg, Sun A Choi, and Courtney Zsitek; sophomores Tara Graff and Jaime Bendewald; and freshmen Michelle Eriksson, Kara Sherman, and Stella Tantillo.
