The top-seeded doubles team of seniors Michael Sellitto and Michael Levin advanced to the Boys Tennis State Championship Final where they lost a heartbreaking final to Alex Hagermoser and Peter Heneghan of Hinsdale Central, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5). The Titans had not dropped a set in their six prior tournament matches in advancing to the final.
Senior Luke McCanna and Junior Will Lyon also competed in doubles, finishing with a record of 3-2, falling in the fourth round of the Consolation Bracket.
Sophomore Sam Hoogland competed in singles and finished 4-2. His first loss was to eventual champion Jason Brown of Deerfield in three hard fought sets, and Hoogland eventually bowed out in the seventh round of the Consolation Bracket.
With 25 team points, the five Titans led GBS to a tie for fifth place in the team standings with Deerfield and OP-RF.
