Titan Sports Memories 04/15/2012

On Friday night, June 2, 2000, on their home field, the Titan Boys Lacrosse team successfully scaled the state championship summit in just the ninth year for the school’s program. Behind a combined three goals and four assists by the Peterson twins (Ross and Ryan), and the stellar goaltending of Tim Boraca (playing with a cast on his broken arm,) the Titans vanquished the Barrington Broncos 12-8 in the IHSLA State Championship game at John Davis Stadium.  It was the first time in Illinois history that either New Trier, Loyola or Lake Forest did not win the state championship. (Barrington won the state title the following year, followed since by only Loyola and New Trier.)
